STEP 1 – EVALUATION OF PROFILE 

Every province has their own Immigration criteria, and a province can be selected after evaluation of applicant’s profile where following factors become helpful:

STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS FOR PNP APPLICATION

Phase 1: Research, Analysis and Preparation (2-3 months)

Week 3-4: Initial Assessment

  • Prepare and take language test (IELTS/CELPIP/PTE/TEF)
  • Get Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from one of the assessment body (WES/IQAS/ICES/ICAS/CES)
  • Calculate points for FSW and CRS score
  • Research the best suitable provincial programs
  • Determine best suitable NOC code
  • Find Employer in Canada if required

Week 4-6: Document Gathering

  • Request employer in India to issue Employment reference letters as per immigration requirement.
  • Other employment supporting documents.
  • Prepare all secondary and post-secondary education transcripts and degrees
  • Passport copies
  • Police clearances
  • Proof of funds
  • Language test results
  • ECA report
  • Marriage certificate
  • Spouse and child documents

Phase 2: Application Submission in Province (process time varies by province)

Streams, which are linked with Express Entry:

  1. Create Express Entry profile
  2. Wait for the ITA / NOI
  3. Get Notification of NOI/ITA from province
  4. Apply to province within 45-60 days as per deadline
  5. Prepare complete application as per checklist
  6. Submit complete application with documents
  7. Wait for provincial nomination (4-6 months typically)
  8. Accept nomination in Express Entry system (600 CRS points added) once approved
  9. Receive ITA for permanent residence
  10. Apply for permanent residence to IRCC

Non-Express Entry Streams:

  1. Apply directly to province (submission in Express entry is not mandatory)
  2. Submit Expression of Interest (EOI) or full application as per province criteria
  3. Wait for assessment from visa officer (3-12 months)
  4. Get approved and receive Nomination Certificate & Support letter
  5. Apply for permanent residence to IRCC

Phase 3: Federal Application (6-18 months)

After you, receive Nomination from Province:

  1. Submit PR application in IRCC (within 6/12 months of nomination)
  2. Pay federal processing fees
  3. Complete biometrics
  4. Obtain police certificates
  5. Complete medical examination
  6. Wait for background checks
  7. Receive passport request
  8. Receive COPR and PR visa

TOTAL TIMELINE:

(Time varies depending to various factors such as visa processing office, backlogs, political conditions, priority occupations etc)

  • Express Entry linked: 8-12 months total
  • Non-Express Entry: 18-24 months total
